About Oak & Shield

Oak & Shield Tree Service, LLC is a veteran-owned, family-run business serving Gulfport, Biloxi, and surrounding Mississippi Gulf Coast communities. Founded by husband-and-wife team Matthew and Britani Pitts, Oak & Shield brings together a love of nature, a commitment to service, and a desire to build a greener future for our community and our children.

Both United States Air Force veterans, we carry the values of responsibility, attention to detail, and clear communication into our business. Matthew handles the tree work, while Britani manages administration and helps keep customers informed from the first inquiry through project completion.

Matthew holds Mississippi Tree Surgery certification and the associated license, along with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology, Conservation, and Evolutionary Biology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He brings seven years of hands-on experience caring for trees and yards for our family, friends, and neighbors. Our business is insured.

We currently offer ground-level tree cutting, tree and stump removal, and storm cleanup. We approach each project with respect for your property and the natural environment, a focus on tree health, and a commitment to thorough cleanup. You can expect clear, timely communication and thoughtful attention to your concerns.

We proudly serve Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Long Beach, Pass Christian, D’Iberville, Bay St. Louis, and nearby communities.
